Congratulations to the 2026 Schnitzer Wonder Award Winner: The Library Foundation
The Library Foundation is a private nonprofit that raises funds to support the Multnomah County Library, the oldest public library on the West Coast. Since its inception in 1995, the Foundation has provided tens of millions of dollars to enhance library services for children and their families, from book purchases to early literacy programs and academic support for K-12 students. For their longstanding partnership in producing the Oregon Symphony’s Symphony Storytime program, and their exceptional investment in children across Multnomah County, we are proud to present this year’s award to the Library Foundation.
The Schnitzer Wonder Award was created in 2015 by Jordan Schnitzer to honor his parents, Harold and Arlene Schnitzer, and their commitment to philanthropy, fairness, opportunity, education, and creativity as the heart of a strong and vibrant community. The award honors an individual or organization that directly works to build community through the next generation of artists and/or student musicians. This award comes with a $10,000 monetary prize, intended to help further the honoree’s work, and is presented at the annual Celebration Concert.
